Gerry Inow from Jubilee Lodge, No 8822 has decided to take the plunge and swim the 33.3 Km width of the English Channel in aid of the Middlesex 2020 Festival – raising money for the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys. As a competent swimmer and keen Mason it was logical to combine the two passions to undertake this challenge. But there’s a twist ! Bro Gerry, being one to enjoy life’s comforts, and avoid the hideous cold of the sea, will take his time and complete the 1,332 lengths over a 3 month period in his local swimming pool ! Perhaps making this most comfortable and longest ever channel swim ? He has set himself a fund raising target of at least £2,020, and is looking for donations of at least £2.02 or perhaps a little more – maybe £20.20!! Whatever is given will be gratefully received.

Saturday 26th May – Sunday 27th May 2018 – The Richmond Lodge, No. 2032 – London to Brighton Challenge
Having last year completed the Marathon des Sables for The 2020 Festival and being placed a respectable 251 of 1280 competitors, W.Bro Frankie Whelan of The Richmond Lodge, No.2032 will this year run the London to Brighton Challenge with Bro Charlie Clifford and Bro Robert Miller over the weekend of 26th-27th May 2018.
They will run together, two for The 2020, and the other in support of Shooting Star Chase, two most worthy causes for young people.
This will see our brethren amongst 2,500 intrepid adventurers of all ages & experience walk, jog, or run Capital to Coast over 100km setting out from Richmond along the Thames, over the North and South Downs, and through the wonderful Sussex countryside with full support & hospitality all the way to the celebrations at the Brighton finish line.
In its 7th year, the London 2 Brighton Challenge has become one of the UK’s greatest endurance events and a great opportunity to raise awareness and money for worthy causes.
Being inspired by the work of The Relief Chest Scheme our brethren wanted to support them by raising money as part of their participation in The 2020 Festival.
Please help our brethren to help them by giving whatever you can using the ‘Give Now’ button on the link.
The more people that know about The Relief Chest Scheme and The 2020 Festival the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing their page with your friends and family.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot !
The RMTGB exists to: “relieve poverty and advance the education of children of a Masonic family and when funds permit, support other children in need.”
We have adopted a line that the RMTGB use as we feel it sums up the whole essence of what The 2020 Festival is about:
